Shoes Galore

I get a lot of flack from my girlfriend for the amount of shoes I own. She claims that my collection is “bigger than any other shoe wardrobe of girls I know.”

I don’t really mind that she says that, to be honest. Maybe I take it as a feat. Perhaps I like that she’s baffled by it whereas I just think I need shoes for different occasions. It really is kind of interesting that I just look at it as all my shoes whereas others think “Man, you have a lot of shoes.”

So, because I have over 30 or 40 pairs around our apartment, I figured it would be productive to have a dedicated spot or rack for all my different shoes. I started to put together a makeshift shoe rack for one type of shoes while putting some others in storage. Luckily, I had enough random materials and shipping supplies laying around like packing tape and cardboard boxes that I was able to separate my shoes into three different categories. The shipping supplies in particular came in handy when I needed to label certain boxes and racks of shoes.

Winter/rainy shoes.
This is admittedly my smallest category of shoes. I have about one pair of dedicated shoes for rain and mud and another that are boots for the winter.

Summer wear.
Here’s where my flip flops, Tevas, and Chacos go. Admittedly, I can fold/stack my sandals and other summer footwear a lot easier than other types of shoes, so this “collection” is much more compact and small than the others, which I enjoy.

Formal shoes and boots.
These are the shoes I hang up in my organized shoe hanger that clings to my clothes rack. And what’s perfect is I can hang it right next to my dress shirts, dress pants, and nicer belts. These are easy to access and stay away from my other shoes so that they’re always clean, in shape, and ready to go alongside my other formal wear when I need them.

Athletic footwear.
Tennis shoes and basketball shoes (and anything else I’d use to work out in) go in this section. I also have my Soloman trail runners in this category since I use them infrequently enough to not be with my everyday shoes.

Everyday shoes.
And finally, my rack for everything else. This is pretty much what I can wear with any sort of informal wear. I’ve got random tennis shoes in here. Some nicer Pumas. High top sneakers. And even a few pairs of loafers. This is where 50% of my shoes are, so it’s no surprise that they’re the most diverse.

Why I Only Order Things Online Now

I am going to start off this article by saying that I am an incredibly lazy person. To put things bluntly, I don’t do anything unless I absolutely have to. That includes things at work (my coworkers and bosses hate me) and also things around the house. Various tasks like mowing the lawn, doing the dishes, taking out the trash, and other miscellaneous things rarely get done around my house because I am simply too lazy to care. I know that a lot of people will judge me for this sort of behaviour, but I would like to say that you should not judge someone unless you know more about them.

A lot of people who look at me on the surface may think that I am just a lazy person who doesn’t care about anything, and they would probably be right. I am not totally sure where I was going with that point, but now you have a basic understanding of who I am as a person for the context of this article. What I really want to talk about today is online shopping and how easy it has become. 10 years ago, ordering things online was a completely different form of purchasing goods and services. Not only were things more expensive, but the wait time was absolutely excruciating. Sometimes I would have to sit on my couch for a week or two straight before anything that I ordered came in.

Nowadays, however, I can order things online and have them at my house in literally just 1 or 2 days. That means that for lazy people like me, I don’t have to waste my time going to the supermarket or the grocery store. Ever since COVID hit and I was locked alone in my house for weeks on end, I got extremely used to just ordering everything I needed online. Now that some of the restrictions have been lifted and people are going back to some semblance of a normal life, I still refuse to go back to stores. After all, why would I want to go through all the trouble of locating my car keys, walking outside, getting in my car, pulling out of my driveway, driving to the grocery store and having to sit in traffic, only to run into a crowd of people at the grocery store and just ruin my day. It is much easier to order everything online. The world has made it very easy to order just about anything you want online, if you don’t mind waiting just a little bit. And for me, I don’t mind waiting at all. In fact, waiting just gives me more time to sit in my house and do nothing.

There is no better feeling than seeing that UPS truck roll up to my house and knowing that my new package is here. To be honest, I order so many products on a regular basis that I usually have no idea what is going to be coming in the mail that day. My friends and family are worried I have an online shopping addiction, but I don’t. The only downside is that I have so much excess shipping supplies in my garage from the packing supplies. So if you need any free shipping supplies, let me know!

How to take the Best Product Photos without Investing Everything Into It!

Good photos of your product is so important, since these high-quality, clear, and crisp images will help bring your brand to life. Consumers want something that looks good, and they’re not as forgiving as they were in the past. One bad image will ruin your brand.

There are a ton of new ways to get the perfect product photos though, even if you don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on it, and we’ll help you make sure that you’ve got the best images for your product, even on a shoestring budget.

Get Inspired

The best way to get the best product photos is to have a good springboard to work off of. For example, if you know a brand that’s got some killer photos, you can look at what they do, and then loosely inspire your product photos off that. You can do your competitor too.

While you shouldn’t copy, this is a good way for you to get some feeling for what you need to do, and it helps you get the high-quality photos really quick.

Get a lightbox

A lightbox is something that you can buy or make. Buying is usually the best if you’re short on time, but you can make them.

Basically, you just get a box, put it on the side so that it’s double the size of the item, tape the bottom parts up, cut off the flaps near the top, and then put a square on each side of this, and then give an inch or so around this square though so the box doesn’t topple itself. Then, put the white paper around there outer part of this to cover up your openings.

You can then use some lamps or some flood lights, and then, you just place it in there put the lighting on, and then take pictures. You can also make smaller platforms with other boxes, and then add the top to it to make it look professional.

Get a Good Camera

With a lot of photos, sometimes the secret is the camera.

You could be spending a couple thousand, or just a few hundred to ensure that you’re getting the best results possible.

How much you decide to throw into this is something that’s ultimately up to you. You can still get good photos if you decide to use a cheaper camera.

You should ideally go for a DSLR that’s mid-range, but if you’re struggling, a good cell phone camera is always something that you’ll be able to get some good results with.

You also may want to try different angles and details and see if there are any major angles that work well for this.,

Edit them!

You should make sure that you also edit the images, such as for brightness, white balance, and the contrast, so that the product stand out on its own.  There are a lot of people who don’t know how to use photoshop, but if you’re able to, and you have an account, use it.

If you don’t want to or don’t’ have the money for photoshop, there is GIMP, which is basically a clone of photoshop that’s open source, and if you struggle with getting some edits, then definitely try this.

Finally, for those taking packaging pictures, there are a few things that you can do so that you’re not wasting time with bad photos.

First, make sure that the art is sent inside vector files, including the fonts that should be printed, and it’s of the highest quality possible.

How to Ship Funko Pops

If you’re someone who sells Funko pops, you might wonder about how to ship them. You’re not alone.

There are a few ways to ship them so that they stay protected and offer a better unboxing result for the customer at hand.

One at A Time

This is one that’s a good one if the item is fragile, and it’s one that’s worth a lot.  You need to look at the space. It’s ideal to ensure that you’ve got enough padding for this, such as bubble wrap, and if you’re going to put anything else in there, you want to; make sure it fits.

However, you don't want it to be so big that the item bounces around and gets marred. A box is the best way to add a Funko pop, and you can even get them with locking tabs, to create the unboxing experience that you want to create.

You can wrap the pop in a bubble wrap, secure this with some tape, and then, you can add some tissue outside of this to add further protection. Some people might even use tissue paper that's a costume to make this memorable.

From there, you just put them in the box, and add anything else that you need. You can stand this in an upright fashion, or on its back, whatever you want.

Obviously, you can then add the other personalised items, and the buyer will remember that the moment they open it.

For Two Pops

If you’re shipping out two Funko pops, then you can get a slightly bigger box to make this work.

The correct box for shipping is one that fits all of these. Stock boxes that are made from corrugated fiber, or even mailer boxes are good for this.

The ideal way to do this, is to wrap this so it’s like they’re being shipped one at a time. Put them in the box, and then add the customised paper to this, then add the Funko pops in there, wrapping this material around each of them. Finish this off with the thank-you card, and then some packing tape to help with sealing this one.

Three  at Once

Okay, so you’re going to have some people who buy these Funko pops as package deals.  In that instance, you’ll need to find a box that fits all three of these. A corrugated box, or a mailer that’s made with corrugated fibers are good. They accommodate all of that, without giving too little, or too much space within that box.

You should wrap the Funko pops the way that you’ve done before, and then, separate each of these with more bubble wrap. That way they’re not bouncing into each other.

Once they’re secured, you’ll want to seal this, either with packaging tape or customized tape.  Water-activated tape is good for this because it provides some extra security, and it’s good too if you want to offer a more branded experience for your customers too.

And there you have it. If you end up selling a lot of these, just increase the box size so that you put enough in there, and then, once you put all of that together, you can then ship it out.

Collectibles are still super popular, and a lot of people do collect Funko pops. In that case, you want to make sure that they’re shipped out in a way that fits the needs of the company. Go custom and create a means for you to really improve on this, so that it’s even better than you’ve had before.

Loads of Slip Strips for Elastic Wrapping to Stabilize Loads

Would you understand that slip strips may be used to support slick elastic wrapped weights? Subscribers weren't alone in whether they replied "no." Assume you're like the majority of product-shipping firms. In that situation, you're presumably using elastic film to keep the palletized products contained and secured during transit, shipment, and warehousing. As a result, elastic wrapping of cargo is a standard method used by many businesses throughout the world.

Elastic film is popular because it can cover and fasten powdered objects. However, many such loads may pose an issue owing to slick items. These items might result in unbalanced weight and difficult stretching packaging procedures. These issues, however, may be avoided owing to slipping strands! And whatever seems to be a slip strip, exactly? But how would they ensure that slick items are correctly palletized? Nowadays, we'll take a look at slip strands and see how these may help companies better control their slick cargoes of elastic-wrapped goods.

So What Is the Slip Strip, And What Will It be used for?

Slip strips, also described simply as anti-pallet sheets, seem to be plates of fabric (usually paper) being used to enable it to be simpler to cover slippery goods with elastic film. Those sheets resemble massive slips of paper in appearance and feel. Whereas these cardboard sheets aren't ideal for scribbling or painting endeavors, they're perfect for keeping your slick goods onto the pallets!

By preventing items from slipping off some wooden pallets, slipping sheets serve to boost pallet sturdiness. These also aid with the prevention of pressure shifts and damaged products.

Slip papers provide friction among the strands on the pelleted items, keeping bagged goods, containers, packages, and other comparable items in position. The majority of slip papers are both recyclable and non-toxic.  The majority of slip papers are both recyclable and non-toxic.

Moisture-resistant slip papers are indeed offered for packaging extended-wrapped items that are subjected to the weather and therefore stored outside. Slip sheeting is a low-cost alternative to wooden boards. A slide sheet seems to be a broad pallet-sized material with one Push-Pull connection that allows it to be handled. Corrugated boxes or plastic can all be used to make a slip paper. Corrugated box slip papers, in particular, really aren't tear-unaffected but degrade inside a moist environment. The tear-unaffected slip papers work wonderfully.

  • Links to the slip paper

Slip papers are commonly handled with two distinct sorts of connections. A drag-release connection attaches around the paper and drags the sheeting and material load over the lower platen. A grabber jaw just at the lower of the facial landmark shuts after both the dragging and release just at the start, requiring just one mechanical action to grasp and return the load with the sheets.

  • What Are Slip Papers and How Would They Work?

Like a sheet is piled, slip papers are inserted between stacks (for example packages of salty saline) of merchandise. Among each layer, particularly under the initial item and on the edge of the former, additional sheets have been put in. The pallets are then covered from either manual extend film or mechanical extend film using an automated stretch wrapping, and so is customary.

Truckloads are kept and transferred as normal once the papers have already been placed and, indeed, the container has also been covered. These thicknesses of papers that sit among each stack of articles keep the pelleted goods from falling off and then rolling about during transit.

  • What are a few typical slip paper implementations?

Slip papers are used by many industries to keep slippery items from slipping throughout shipment. Palletizing slipping goods like mulch sacks, melting ice, birdseed, gardening fertilizer, as well as other packaged, cartooned, and packaged consumer items are common uses utilizing slip paper. Water-absorbent slip papers are often utilized for packaging things in fully accessible buildings and outside areas like household and yard stores, grocers, and chain stores.

  • What Stores Sell Slip papers?

Slip papers can be acquired via container manufacturers and otherwise slip paper manufacturers. Slip papers are also available from internet shops, including Line or eBay. We should, nevertheless, remind you that consumers may also get the slip papers through us over at Commercial Container. If you'd want to learn something about slipping papers or make a purchase for any of these packaging materials, please contact us. They'll be available to help them in finding the right slip papers for the anti-slide methods and techniques or goods wrapping requirements.

Start a Moving Company – Don’t be an Amateur. Be a Professional

A moving company, meaning a business which has physical strength and motor vehicles as key points can be a profitable endeavor for ones seeking to earn additional income or for others seeking a full-time salary. Similarly, the moving business is like the rest, it requires some prerequisites and determination to make it work and in return some of the rewards might be great.

It is common to see small jobs being performed for instance on weekends, a few amateurs trying to make an extra dollar by moving certain things for a client, for of course, most often than not these amateurs lack the proper insurance and legal papers making them vulnerable against lawsuits or financial penalties. On the other hand, if one obtains the appropriate and required licenses, insurance and permits and is dedicated enough to make a financial and business plan and conducts the right research he or she can be sure enough to make it a success.

To contrast the oversaturated moving industry with all of its amateurs willing to work and offer services for cheap it is suggested to compete, to rival the individuals who often lack proper documentation such as required permits and insurance by being and acting as a professional in the moving business.

Being a professional means that the services that one offers are done efficiently and orderly for the right price. Often business will list more services just so they attract a larger client base or market, but truly they lack the proper practice to perform the intended services in a manner that is favorable to their clients. Meaning perhaps it is better to offer a handful of services but with the intention of doing a terrific and well-done job.

The question that arises is “How do I become a professional?”. Although moving as a process isn’t especially complicated nevertheless meticulous practice and training will provide an eager individual ready to do his moving job properly with the experience, physical strength and muscle memory gained from repetition and attention to detail. Some things are best learned when done, some things require our bodies to get accustomed to a certain pattern of movement which in return gives a flexibility and speed and thus, making us a professional.

Shipping Supplies, dollies, pads, shrink wrap ramps, boxes, packaging materials are a few of the things you will needs besides the most important one being the moving truck. It is important to note that the truck should have association logos, for instance the American Moving and Storage Association and also should contain permit information which all goes back to the legitimacy of the business.

One of the things most advised when going into business it to have at least a rough sketch that you can call a business plan. It is very normal nowadays to have a website where you can provide the list of services that your moving company can perform. On this website can also be displayed the insurance provider which provides the commercial insurance, business insurance and insurance coverage for any damaged furniture during the move.

When first starting out, it is best to think small but it is still important to dream big. Start by hiring some staff, put them through moving training, ensure proper workflow, go about Shipping Supplies, boxes and what not but continue envision commercial success and needing to accommodate for that growth, you might need more trucks, or storage space or even more workers to help you. Envision it and make it into reality.

How to Find the Right Shipping Box

Choosing the ideal shipping box isn’t just a suggestion, it’s a great idea in order to save money. Whether it’s a small business, or you’re shipping as a company, the right shipping boxes will be used to make your life easier. Here, we’ll give you some ideas of the boxes you should use, and their benefits.

Small boxes

Small boxes are good for shipping out electronics, books, and other tiny items.

There are benefits for using a smaller item.

They include:

  • They do save you money, because the dimensional weight tends to be much more affordable.

  • It’s more efficient, especially if you’re trying to avoid using too much cushioning for the package, saving you money. They also take up far less space

  • They’re versatile for cosmetics, books, accessories, clothing, and a whole lot more.  They’re much more useful for companies that make small things.

  • They’re sustainable, since you’re using far less waste and consumption, also taking up far less space when transporting them.

  • Better customer experience, since they can be used without having to get items to open it.  it boosts the unboxing experience, and also makes it very convenient for the receptionist

Medium boxes

These are kind of the middle child when it comes to shipping.

They’re good as well for flexibility and versatility, and usually offer good protection for items that won’t fit in a tiny box.

They are good as well for heavier items, since they provide more efficient types of packaging and safer delivery.

Electronics, clothing, even household items in small and medium sized boxes will fit.  If you’re shipping out multiple items, this can also be good too.

Shoes and appliances also work well with medium sized boxes.

Large Boxes

Large boxes are good for oversized and bulk items.

The biggest advantage of this is that it can be good for larger items, without compromising the structure. They’re made usually of sturdy types of materials, properly reinforced to offer the most durability during the transit process.

There is enough room for you to add protective packaging and padding, preventing further damage to this.

This is really good for larger items, because it’s common for the items to break down, and usually is a more reliable option for transporting large or oversized items.

Extra Large Shipping Boxes

This is for the items that are too big for a big box.  This is a good, practical solution as well for those oddly-shaped objects that won't fit into any other box.

This is good too for heavy items, since they’re made with bulk to them, and also will help with keeping the structure intact when you put something large in there.

They come with corners that are reinforced as well, which allows for you to add more weight to it, and it won’t get broken when you transport the item.

It also offers a chance to put some extra packaging and other void fill, protecting everything against any possible damage.

Flat Rate Shipping

This is a box that you pay a predetermined fee on, based on the size, regardless of the package weight, and what’s been shipped. This structure is good for shipments that are dense and heavy.

The USPS as well will have different types.

Choosing the right box is important based on your needs. Look at the items that you’re shipping, and from there, choose the items that will best fit.  If you’re able to find the box that fits your needs, use it, and from there, try to keep the items in those for the best results.
